Scott Baio and His Tunes

There are many things to talk about when it comes to the reality show Scott Baio is 45 and Single. And while many people are going to wonder about Baio’s commitment level or if his marriage to fiancé Renee will last, I personally want to know what’s up with his choice in music.

When Doc Ali asks Baio if he understands why he’s 45 and single… he says that he’s looking for the next best thing. It’s as simple as that. She asks if he’s ready to get married, and as can only happen in scripted reality TV, Scott’s cell phone starts chiming to the tune of “If This Is It” by Huey Lewis.

Which made me think: Huey Lewis? Scott Baio listens to Huey Lewis and the News?

Well, after all, Scott Baio may be a well preserved 45, but he is 45 nonetheless. His choice of music proves that.

Later, in the car on the way to the lawyer – he’s singing along to the Tears for Fears song “Shout” from 1985. Oh yeah… he’s 45 all right.

On the way home from the attorney, Baio is listening to “Turn Me Loose.” Loverboy, circa… 1981.

When Scott is looking at engagement rings, he gets another text message from Johnny V. You know what that means: Cue the Huey Lewis music!
