Reality TV Love

First, let’s talk about the big elephant in the room: the finale of Age of Love. I had feared that Mark’s family would dig Amanda more than Jen ONLY because Amanda could theoretically pop out grandkids for Mark’s “shy” mom. (Do any of us believe that woman is as shy as she says she is?)

Despite what Mark says, age WAS the deciding factor. And what a boneheaded decision it was to choose Amanda – who whined and played games and whispered in his ear just enough to poison Mark’s mind to anyone else. Shame on him for falling for it.

I can’t help but think that the minute the cameras were off she freaked him out with her “I love you – MUST HAVE YOU….” Intensity. That stare alone would be enough to scare me. I think Jen has it right when she said if she were younger, Mark would have chosen her. And how come Mark Consuelos didn’t come to Austrailia? He and Kelly could have taken the kids and put a funny spin on the whole thing? Oh well… guess I’ll just have to start my own reality TV love show one day for that to happen.

In other reality TV news, Scott Baio is still trying to figure out why he can’t commit. So he meets his future step-daughter, who is seventeen and a younger, hotter version than her mom. Gee – that makes for good TV. The rumor around the web is that Baio’s fiancé Renee is already pregnant with his child (two months along if one is to believe the rumor) so this would make his reality show a bit of a mute point. Wouldn’t it?

And finally, congratulations to former reality TV stars Trista and Ryan Sutter, on the birth their son, Maxwell Alston Sutter. Trista and Ryan were contestants from ABC’s The Bachelorette and were married December 2003. This seems to be one reality TV love story that has a happy ending.
