Kelly Clarkson Never In Love

I don’t know about you guys, but I think Kelly Clarkson made American Idol a hit. Sure, talented singers followed, but if Clarkson hadn’t proved to be such an incredible musical find, the show might not have taken off like it did.

In a recent CNN interview, Kelly Clarkson admits she’s never been in love. Yet. She says:

• “I am very old-school, conservative in my thinking when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn’t come easily. There are going to be bad days. You are going to have to work at loving someone when they are being an idiot.”

I used to dread those words: “having to work at it.” Before I met the right guy for me, the thought of working out problems in a relationship seemed like a drag – to put it mildly. I also believed that if you had to work out any problems, it probably meant you weren’t with the right person. It wasn’t until I was well into my 30s that I realized this thinking was wrong.

So I admired Clarkson’s mature take on love and relationships. Not only is she a talented singer and songwriter, she’s obviously wise beyond her years.
