Soldiers Pets

September 11th will always be remembered as a sad day for the USA and the World, as many countries lost citizens in the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Flight 93 terror attacks. As we remember those that lost their lives we also must remember the soldiers who continue to fight the war on terror.

Many of these soldiers have left behind family members that love them and respect them for the sacrifices they have chosen to make in order to keep our country (the USA) free and safe. Some of the family members left behind are of the 4 legged nature.

Please keep in mind when adopting a new pet that a soldiers pet might also be in need of a home. The link is to an article I found telling of a cat belonging to a soldier who was killed in action. The article printed in late August stated the cat was in need of a new home. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure this cat remains available, but I encourage you to check with your local rescues or animal shelters, you might find other animals in similar situations.

I think adopting a fallen soldiers pet is one more way to support our troops and show them that we will take care of something they loved when they can no longer be here with us.
