One of the nice things about long-term studies like the one at Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History is that they allow fairly accurate answers to questions such as "How long do hummingbirds live?"
A photo essay about two exceptionally senior (old) hummingbirds caught (and released) at Hilton Pond and a general discussion of hummer longevity is located at This Week at Hilton Pond.
Another of my favorite sites for hummingbird information is: Operation RubyThroat:
The Hummingbird Project. This is a great site for children and many elementary schools incorporate this site into lessons.
Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History is located at:
1432 DeVinney Road, York, South Carolina 29745, USA

The mission of Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History is to conserve plants, animals, habitats, and other natural components of the Piedmont Region of the eastern United States through observation, scientific study, and education for students of all ages.
