A picture is worth a thousand words goes the tradtional saying. In direct reponse to interest generated by readers of Landscaping at Suite101, I begin a series of articles about landscape photographs and residential landscaping pictures online.

The series focuses on:

• Photos making good landscape design tools;
• Occasional reviews of online landscaping photo sites based on cost, user-friendliness and practicality; and
• Sporadic reviews of online photo sites featuring historical and traditional gardens.
• Hard print books that contain valuable and educational garden photos.
