Create Your Own Wildflower Meadow

The 30-minute VHS video How to Create your own Wildflower Meadow is still available from American Meadows. This systematic video is one of my favorites because it is so concise and understandable. When homeowners and landscape contractors follow these procedures and use quality seeds, they will have great results.

The video details all you need to know from:

  • site preparation;
  • sowing; and
  • care of seedlings; to
  • fall mowing and clean-up.

The Vermont Wildflower Farm, located on US Rte. 7 between Burlington and Middlebury, Vermont, is the location for this video. The Farm features approximately 6 acres of field and forest habitat with over 250 wildflower species. Plants are labeled with botanical information, as well as Native American uses and romantic legends that surround many of our wildflowers. The Farm is open for visitors from early spring through December, seven days a week.
