It seems like it was just last year that I was listening to and reviewing new albums by Seal and Britney Spears. Oh Yeah, it was only last year. But here I am again listening to two brand new albums by both artists, Soul and Circus respectively. So, you maybe asking, what do Seal and Britney have in common, and why am I talking about them?
Well to answer the first, they have nothing in common besides having released two brand new albums within a year of their last efforts. So why am I talking about them then? Because both of their new discs have been playing non stop on my iPod.
Cynics argue that the boost to put out an album before Christmas is all marketing to cash in on the shopping rush. Well, who am I to argue with cynics. All I know is that for whatever reason, Fall 2008 has had fine musical moments including the latest offerings from Seal and Britney that have been playing along side my favorite album by Keane – Perfect Symmetry, The Killers – Day and Age and Dido – Safe Trip Home.
Let’ hope 2009 has even more great music, since it may just be the last year for music albums as we have known them for the last 50 years.
