My New Obsession: Keyshia Cole

I am obsessed today with the voice of Keyshia Cole. She's been around the music scene since about 2005, but something about hearing her on the new P. Diddy song, Last Night, finally got to me and hooked me in. Her voice has layers and flavors. A little bit of rasp and a whole lot of soul - hers is a voice that's been places. It's lived hard and fast but stayed as sweet as that first bite of the season's first strawberry. She's not just another cog in the pop music wheel like the rest of these singers that look and sound like they stepped off the factory assembly line. That voice sounds like an old soul trapped in the body of an early-20s girl - and that's not altogether a bad thing. Now that I'm done obsessing, just listen to this song and tell me I'm nuts.
