My radio station, 98-7 The Peak (KPKX-FM Phoenix), threw a party last night at "Peakerman's Penthouse" with Survivor. Yes, the 80s Survivor that brought us the joy of Eye Of The Tiger. I got to meet and greet the band and most of them were cool. The lead singer was very nice but the nicest guy of all was the drummer, I think. How nuts is this -- I didn't get the names of the guys and there was so much going on at the party, I'm not even sure which guy was the cool guy. I will have to try to figure this out on Monday after the hangovers are gone and everyone is back to work. I tried now to catch up with them on their website to set myself straight, but it's not clearly apparent from the site who's who. Highlights: Eye Of The Tiger is still an awesome song and it was fun to hear live from the band in the flesh. They had a tough time getting the harmonies right on High On You. The lead singer picked one of our listeners out of the crowd and sang The Search Is Over directly to her on the steps of the stage. Their opening band was a local one called The Rave who played covers for us and they were great.
