Heather's Hotlist #2

It's the next installment of Heather's Hotlist!

Here's music I think is hot and worth a listen. I've been listening to a lot of Internet radio and jotted down some songs you may want to check out. The fun thing about this list is it's an eclectic potpourri of songs. Look them up at random and be pleasantly surprised! You may discover your next favorite artist.

Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby

Bob Sinclair - Tennessee

Jaime Wyatt - Wild Wicked World

Backyard Tire Fire - Time To Go

Razorlight - In The Morning

Paula DeAnda - Walk Away

Mika - Grace Kelly

Hellogoodbye - Here In Your Arms

Martin Solveig - Jealousy

Eliot Popkin - Endless Ride

Listen to Macy Gray's Big Online

The next item in the hotlist is Macy Gray's new album, which you can listen to online at VH1.com. I haven't listened yet, but will be reviewing it at length very soon. Do check out my favorite so far of the songs I've heard - Strange Behavior. It will make you laugh and smile. I enjoy Macy Gray's dark, dry humor on this one. It also has a classic sound and excellent storytelling .

Jordin Sparks on American Idol

Jordin Sparks is my hometown girl and it's Jordin Sparks fever here in Phoenix, Arizona. She's actually from Glendale on the west side of town and the entire Valley of the Sun, as this area is called, is nuts for Jordin. Glendale is throwing a huge shindig tonight with thousands expected to turn out. Tonight, she performed I Who Have Nothing - a perfect choice because it's not a very well-known song. In the very least it is not an overdone song. She's a great performer with a super voice, good range, and her personality! Her personality is perfect! She comes off as warm, energetic, fun, youthful, and sweet. You can tell she's got a sense of humor. She's gracious and gorgeous too. I suppose I'm biased because she's my hometown girl but I think she's going to do so well and become very famous after Idol.

The Tobago Boycott

I'd like to initiate, if no one else has already, an official boycott of Tobago by all performers. Any country whose church leaders try to block an Elton John performance because they fear his mere presence on the island will turn residents automatically and magically gay is too backwards to deserve any cultural visits by artists from around the world. How about we all just boycott Tobago altogether, even? There are other less hateful islands where one can go for a vacation.
