Boom for Whom?

Albertans Demand Affordable Housing is organizing a march and rally for Saturday, August 18, 2007. People will be meeting at the south end of the fountain at City Hall at 1 p.m. and marching to the Alberta Legislature with the rally program beginning at about 2 p.m.

The program will consist of a range of speakers and several local artists and musicians. The presenters will question the economic boom and its neglect to reach a growing segment of Alberta’s population, particularly in regards to housing.

Meet at City Hall at 12:45 p.m.

Depart at 1 p.m.

Arrive at Legislature at 1:45 p.m.

Rally at 2 p.m.

All are welcome!

PLEASE BRING PLACARDS, SIGNS, ART, ETC!!!

If affordable housing is also an issue in your area, I encourage you to get involved with a grassroots coalition or organization and work towards raising awareness of the issue while working towards solutions.
