To Induce or Not to Induce - that is the Question!

A few years ago, one of the couples in my childbirth class came in with a report from their hospital tour. The tour guide said that over 50% of the births that took place at their facility were either scheduled inductions or scheduled cesareans. It's an interesting and yet disturbing trend to see in childbirth.

I have written an article that asks some of the pertinent question about why we are seeing more inductions today, as well as possible reasons for this increase. Some women are indeed asking to be induced, yet others want to know what other options they might have. Some mothers who plan to have natural childbirth will want to know if that is still possible with an induction. In fact, I have recently supported two women who were induced and still managed to avoid all other medical intervention including pain medication. It helps to know the questions to ask and the choices that you have.

So for all the mothers out there who want more information about inductions, check out my article at Labor Inductions on the Rise.

What other pregnancy or childbirth topics are relevant to you? What would you like to see on this site? I would love to hear from you.
