Winter Desert Gardening Events

Interested in desert gardening? How about xeriscapes? What about water conservation?

Well, you’ll be interested to know that there are many, many conferences, workshops and seminars on these topics all over the west.

Some of these events feature internationally renowned experts on desert gardening, water conservation and xeriscaping.

New Mexico

  • Santa Fe - Thinking of taking a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico this winter? Then you might want to catch one of the great and informative seminars at Santa Fe Greenhouses.
  • Albuquerque - If you want a serious dose of xeriscape and desert gardening information, then you really want to attend the 12th Annual Xericscape Conference in Albuquerque, N.M. in March.

Arizona

  • Cochise County - If you’re in Arizona, you might want to look at attending the 14th Annual “High on the Desert” Conference, sponsored by the Cochise County Arizona Master Gardeners Association

  • Tucson - There are a number of events and seminars in Tucson. These are two sites that can tell you about them: Tucson Weekly and Canelo Project

Colorado

  • Denver - Denver Water, one of the most progressive water districts in the U.S. (and coiner of the term xeriscape) sponsors a number of excellent seminars on water conservation and xeric gardening.
