Desert Soil Colors and Textures

Soil texture and soil color are good indicators of soil type, drainage capabilities, mineral amounts, and other physical properties of soil.

What if your soil is light-colored with yellow or brown tinges? What about black soil? What if the soil feels like flour when you rub it between your thumb and fingers?
