Detroit Free Press says, "The resulting leaks and the partial shutdown of the field hurt the U.S. economy by boosting oil prices, Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, the Republican chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said Thursday as BP officials appeared at a hearing. BP's failures are staggering, said Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., who called for tighter pipeline regulation."
