In downtown Toronto, at the corner of John and Richmond, sits the National Film Board of Canada. Just inside the lobby there are several screening stations where you can view any film in the NFB's archive ... for FREE. Similarly on the net, there are sites dedicated to screen shorts right in the comfort of your home.
I was at the Filmmaker's Reception just the other day at the Worldwide Shorts Film Festival and ran into Ritchie Mehta, a local filmmaker who currently has a few projects on the go. We both remarked how wonderful YouTube was.
YouTube is a site where you can upload just about any video streaming clip you want and in turn search for just about anything. My friend and I say it's evil simply because of it's addictive nature. I've already wasted countless hours on it watching mostly music videos from abroad.
