This is by no means an all-inclusive list, but just a small sampling of events coming up in the next month or two (in order by date). One of the best places to check for events in your area is at Beeradvocate.com.
World Beer Festival – April 28, 2007, Raleigh NC
Presented by All About Beer Magazine, there will be more than 150 breweries from around the world presenting more than 300 beers. It looks like this event is already sold out, but never fear – there will be another festival in Durham, NC on October 6, 2007. These events aren’t only about beer, but are also fundraisers for local projects.
New England Real Ale Exhibition – May 2-5, Somerville MA
Organized by the Cask-Conditioned Ale Support Campaign, NERAX is a VFW-sponsored event to benefit veterans. This is the 11th year for this festival, and they anticipate having over 80 ales offered over the course of the event, about half of them from England, Scotland, and Wales.
13th Annual Spring Beer Fest – May 5, 2007, Palatine, IL
Durty Nellie’s is back again this year, promising over 40 hand crafted beers, along with live entertainment and prizes.
25th Anniversary Oregon Homebrew & Microbrew Festival – May 18-19, 2007, Corvallis OR
Hosted by the Heart of the Valley Homebrewers, this is the longest running festival of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. The highlight is the homebrewed beer judging, and the competition is sanctioned by the American Homebrewers Association and the Beer Judge Certification Program. Besides the homebrew competition, there’s a microbrew festival, a home-made soda competition, and a homebrew label competition.
3rd Annual American Beer Fest - June 15 & 16, 2007, Boston MA
Friday night features Night of the Lagers, a special line-up of 40+ lager style beers. There are only 600 tickets available for this event, and they’re only available online (no door sales). Saturday there will be two sessions, with a line-up of over 125 beers from more than 35 brewers.
2007 Seattle International Beerfest – June 29-July 1, 2007, Seattle WA
This festival’s put on by Pet Cross, a non-profit animal welfare organization in the Puget Sound area. They promise to have over 100 beers from 15 countries available this year, along with live entertainment. If you can’t make the Seattle event, there is a “sister” event July 13-15 in Portland, Oregon.
