"The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center in Manhattan is sending an exhibition about the terrorist attacks and their aftermath on a nationwide fundraising tour.
The show includes a selection of artefacts (sic) and a film about the destruction of the Twin Towers, and visitors can sign two steel beams which will be used in the future memorial." -The Art Newspaper
I'm not sure what to think about this. On the one hand, I am glad they have found a way to raise money for a good cause. On the other hand...It am kind of creeped out by it. We've had to relive that horrible day over and over because of the media. Do we really need an exhibition to relive it yet again?
I guess the idea can be compared to holocaust museums. I get the idea...I'm just not sure how it will be received.
Any thoughts? Email me.
