Bagua, also referred to as Ba Gua, or Pa Kua, is a set of 8 Chinese trigrams, each of which corresponds to a certain compass direction. It is used by Feng Shui practitioners for determining Feng Shui areas of the house, each of which is responsible for a particular aspect of life.
So, the chart that divides a house into 9 areas (8 directions plus the center) is called a Bagua map. It shows where each of the 9 Feng Shui areas is located within your house or office. Though Feng Shui consultants usually use Luo Pan, or Feng Shui compass, to determine direction, an ordinary compass can be used as well, if you have decided to do it on your own. Each compass direction corresponds to a separate Feng Shui area:
