The Kendall-Jackson Wine Center in Santa Rosa, California, will offer an opportunity to taste 175 varieties of heirloom tomatoes in every size, shape and color imaginable. These celebrated tomatoes are grown from seeds gathered around the world and planted in the winery’s garden. This one-of-a-kind event will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the winery’s Wine Center, a five minute drive north of downtown Santa Rosa. In addition to the tomatoes, the festival will feature 50 gourmet food purveyors, a tasting of Kendall-Jackson wines, food and wine seminars, garden tours, and live entertainment. Festival guests receive a commemorative wine tasting glass, a food tray and tickets for food and wine sampling. The festival also features a Chef’s Challenge which brings together some of the best new chefs in America. This event is sponsored by Food & Wine Magazine. The annual Heirloom Tomato Festival is sold out every year. Tickets are now available at $55 per person through the month of June. Beginning July 1 the ticket price will be $65. Tickets may be purchased by calling the winery’s toll-free number (800) 769-3649 or through the winery’s website www.kj.com.
