Get Your Kentucky Derby Pick Here

Derby Predictions:

Who will win the 2007 Kentucky Derby? Is there a triple crown colt among this year's Top Ten Derby hopefuls? Or will a lesser known take center stage?

Street Sense has been impressive in what he was asked to do this spring. Was he asked to do enough? Is he ready for the Triple Crown distance?

It's hard to overlook Curlin's three wins in three races. Even harder to overlook his commanding total lengths of victory margin in those three triumphs -- almost thirty lengths. He didn't race as a juvenile. Is he ready for a challenger in the triple classic challenge? Surely, he will experience that if he makes it through all three classics.

Nobiz Like Shobiz was sleekly powerful in his last race, the Wood Memorial. All biz. It's difficult to overlook his bad behavior previous to that big win.

Todd Pletcher trained Scat Daddy is one of the trainer's five entries and has five wins from eight career posts. Hard to overlook.

It's difficult to overlook Great Hunter's troubled pinch-out in the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes. He was ready to move, perhaps to glide to victory as he had in his one other spring race, but traffic formed a major road block at his right moment. Is he greater than the sum of his two races?

If Dominican nosed out Street Sense once, can he do it again? Or, will Dominican be overlooked all together?

It's hard to overlook two key wins from Circular Quay (Pletcher). Even harder to imagine Pletcher can remain Derby winless much longer.

What about Cowtown Cat (Pletcher)? Anyone not overlooking his most recent strong win?

It's difficult to overlook Any Given Saturday's (Pletcher) not quite good enough trips. Will he rise above this Saturday?

It's easy to overlook Sam P. (Pletcher), just as we did Giacomo (2005). And where did Tiago come from? Hmmm...

In the end, it's Scat Daddy for the distance, the attitude, the will, and the win, (if not the trainer).

Unless Nobiz isn't finished being perfectly in tune, and trainer Barclay Tagg has added the right notes (earplugs and blinkers) for the long score.
