Holiday Sleepers
There's only so many times any of us can sit through or before we start reciting the dialogue from memory. If it seems like the same X-mas movies get shown over and over again, fret not my holidazed friend -- here's a few more good choices you may not have seen (or at least not seen 34 times). Wouldn't you rather spend Christmas with Kevin Spacey and the muppets anyway?

New International Sleepers
New to video, that is.
People, people! I don't want to hear that any of you are renting "Freddy Got Fingered," "Swordfish" or the torturous "Tomb Raider" -- or at least
don't say I didn't warn you if you do. It just so happens that there are
plenty of other choices in that New Releases section, many of them with
an international flavor, just waiting to be plucked from the shelves. If
you can stand subtitles -- and you can, I know you can -- then try one of these fulfilling sleepers.

Six Scary Sleepers
In the mood to be spooked and creeped out? These underrated horror films -- long on atmosphere and fright, (for the most part) short on blood -- make for a perfect pre-Halloween spookfest. You'll want to grab your nearest partner or pet, and turn on all the lights, when these are over.

Six Cool Flicks
Each of these films, which bravely cover the map from religion to thievery to abortion to cannibalism, is a unique vision and undeniably cool. From their look, their passion, their risk-taking, their embodiment of the film medium, these thought-provoking films all deserve attention.

More Coming of Age Sleepers: Girls against Boys
In this corner... we have some knowing looks at the difficulty of being a teenage girl... And in the other corner, the pain and suffering of being an adolescent boy. Besides their overriding excellence and truthfulness, what do all these films have in common? Being a teen ain’t easy.

Sleeper Double Features, The Sequel!
Back by (semi)popular demand! From trains to tremors, Shakespeare to Woody Allen, here are some more of my oh-so-clever double-features, for those times when you need to just chill out for a while (say, for four hours or so).

Sleeper Double Features
Just in time for summer -- when we're all too lethargic and hot to move from the couch. Here are some nifty double feature ideas, ten films that fit well together but are uniquely their own.

Sleepers from the Far East
Despite the recent resurgence in interest in Asian films due in part by the success of Crouching Tiger, there are many other films that also deserve to be appreciated. Here's a sampling of some recent masterpieces from the Far East.

Underrated Coming of Age Movies
Porky's and Pretty in Pink may have their place in filmdom, but when it comes to teenage "coming of age" movies, there are some great ones languishing on video shelves.
