I just can't pry her away from me today. Hannukah-- Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, But it's Not Hannukah is looking a lot like Christmas, these days. There is rampant commercialization of this festive Jewish holiday, that is misunderstood by some as a "Jewish Christmas." It is that time. Time to cast aside the nitpicking apartment manager, the noisy neihbors, the lack of freedom to decorate ones on walls and room as one would like. It is time to buy a house. She cannot live with her father. He and I have divorced. This fact will never stand in the way - nor should it - of her loving relationship with her "Daddy." We are back! Back from our West Coast excursion and happy to tred barefoot through the familiar halls of our home... in the East. A short jaunt to the sunny south of the West Coast is in order. A terrific opportunity for learning and exploring. Days of reflection. This describes days such as Veteran's Day. This is a day to share with Hannah. Children should be taught that they can make decisions. That they must make choices and stick to them if they believe they are right. This is a lesson adults do not always learn. Cinderella - at six. It's nearly time again for tricking and treating. |
