Astrological Forecast for November 2005: Year Ahead for Scorpio
The Year Ahead for Scorpio…
Since July 2005 it seems that part of you has been blocked, whether this has been physical or emotional is difficult to say. Regardless of how you experienced this energy, the good news is that this blockage seems to have finally been cleared – allowing you now to make the changes that are needed in your life to achieve happiness and success!

Leo Themes and Mythology
In the Leo part of the developmental cycle, we have reached the stage where the ego of the individual has become strong and complete. The needs at this stage are quite basic, being personal recognition. If this need is met then the Leo influence can be positive and admirable with great powers to attract others to them.

Astrological Forecast for October 2005: Year Ahead for Libra

Book Review: Astrology Revealed
This would have to be the best all-round introduction to astrology I have read! I wish I had access to it when I was studying - it is concise, relatively inexpensive and covers a lot more than I thought it would when I read the title.

Cancer Mythology and Themes
Following on from the intellectual Gemini stage where the exploration of the immediate environment is a theme, the Cancerian stage of development includes needing to feel a sense of belonging to a family, tribe, clan, etc.

Gemini: I Think
Most people are aware that twins are used as a symbol to represent Gemini. Obviously twins represent two people – that are united as one (in my opinion). It takes two people to share ideas with and to have someone challenge your thinking. The twins also represent Gemini’s dualistic tendencies.

Book Review: The Dictionary of the Esoteric
The Dictionary of the Esoteric (Over 3,000 articles on the Mystical and Occult Traditions) is a fabulous reference book for the student of occult or metaphysical subjects. Not only will you find things you would expect such as Aries, or Loch Ness Monster, you are also likely to learn about a few things you’ve never heard about!

Astrological Forecast for May 2005: Year Ahead for Taurus
The Year Ahead for Taurus…
Energies affecting you at the time of the solar eclipses of April and October 2005, and March 2006 suggest that you will need to overhaul several different aspects of your life. Depending on your situation you could feel these affects a month either way of the dates mentioned.
|
|
Taurus: I Own
Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac and represents the stage of building on and stabilising what was started in Aries. Taurus is a fixed, earth sign (see my articles on these topics) - this simply means that people who are affected by Taurus energy (eg, Sun, Moon or Ascendant in this sign) will tend to be steadfast, unchanging and ‘earthy’. This is an introverted sign that is slow, deliberate and cautious, very much the opposite of Aries.

|
Astrological Forecast for April 2005: Year Ahead for Aries
The Year Ahead for Aries…
Since late 2004 the energy around you has supported the formation of mutually beneficial partnerships – both professional and personal. Other activities that could prove beneficial include long distance travel, education and/or legal matters. This uplifting influence will be around until the end of October 2005 so make the most of it!

Mythology: General Editor: C. Scott Littleton
A reference book of this quality is an excellent addition to your reference library... especially if you are the type of person who likes to understand other’s at a deep level. Whatever your subject, students of many different topics would also find this an indispensable title to have in your library. With more than 700 colour photographs and nearly 700 pages of information-packed pages to look through, ‘Mythology’ is an excellent value reference book to add to your collection.
|
|
Aries: I Seek Myself
Liz Greene’s main theme for Aries energy is one of the old being overthrown in order for the new to take over. Usually this means that the father figure or another authority figure will feature in the individual’s life in developing the ego of the ram. Through ramming against the boundaries of this other authoritative figure, the Aries individual gets to develop their own strength.

Book Review: Astrology for the Soul
Once again the author has done a great job of presenting her material in a way that anyone can use and get something from it. The first part of the book guides you through the process of finding the position of your Moon’s North Node – which is what this book goes into exploring.

Silver Moon covers many interesting aspects of the Moon, including it’s various cycles, understanding your own astrological Moon sign, astronomical facts, and heaps more! The chapter devoted to Your Moon Sign is quite detailed. Astrological Forecast for November 2004: Year Ahead for Scorpio
The Year Ahead for Scorpio…
Since the end of September 2004 and for the rest of your forecast period there is an expansive influence affecting behind the scenes matters, your involvement with institutions where people are at some type of retreat from society (ie, hospitals, prisons, spas, etc) and psychological matters.

Lunar (Looney?) Bits and Pieces
Although the Moon isn’t actually a planet (we now know that it is a moon that orbits our earth), in an astrological sense it is treated as one. This article looks at facts related to the Moon and it’s affect on earth and it’s life – including you!

Book Review: Tibetan Astrology
Combine mystery with astrology and I couldn’t wait to set time aside to explore this detailed book on Tibetan Astrology. According to the back cover, this is the first detailed book on this subject. It was originally written in French, but was translated into English by Hamish Gregor.

The Astrological Twelfth House
Keeping in mind that the Twelfth House is the Sixth’s opposite, we can say that since the Sixth represents mundane, physical reality then the Twelfth can represent the unseen elements of life that affect our well being, and also the aspects of our life that transcend our mundane existence. The Sixth/Twelfth Houses form a polarity and need to be balanced out... mundane reality vs. unseen elements of existence.

Book Review: A New Vision of Astrology
A New Vision of Astrology sounded very interesting to me from the information I found on the back cover... "A horoscope begins at conception rather than birth, incorporating gestation – the most formative period of life". This is an approach I haven’t learnt much about so I was very eager to find out more, since the gestation period interests me in regards to the development of an individual.
|
The Astrological Eleventh House
As well as examining the Tenth House, understanding the Eleventh House can be achieved by examining it’s opposite – the Fifth House. This House represents individual needs, creativity and your own children while the Eleventh represents the needs of the group rather than the individual. It also represents the children of other people.

Book Review: Spiritual Astrology: Your Path to Self-Fulfillment
In summary Spiritual Astrology has a lot to offer for the reader who is interested in understanding their life (and past lives!) in a broad perspective. The information is easy to read and clear - I would highly recommend this title to the reader who has a beginner's level of astrological understanding and an interest in reincarnation and karma..

Astrological Forecast for May 2004: Year Ahead for Taurus
The Year Ahead for Taurus…
Since the mid 90’s there has been quite an intense focus on intimate matters, joint financial concerns and psychological matters. Irreversible changes, and perhaps incredible pressure to change these aspects of your life may have been operating since then.

|
The Astrological Tenth House
As we move from the ninth house to the tenth house symbolism we have the opportunity to put our beliefs and knowledge to the test in our vocation and public life. Our experiences so far, and our understanding of they fit into the ‘big picture’ of the ninth house shapes where our life will go from there.
|
Your Stars for 2004
Well, this year certainly looks important in that Uranus has finally left Aquarius very late in 2003, allowing the fixed signs to breathe a sigh of relief because your lives will settle down considerably now. The fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and, as mentioned above, Aquarius.
If you are one of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces) then fasten your seatbelt! During the next seven years it looks as though you will enjoy quite a bit of excitement and change in your life.

Book Review: The Ultimate Astrologer
"A simple guide to calculating and interpreting birth charts for effective application in daily life", is what is says on the cover of this book. I found that this statement, in my opinion, is true.
|
The Astrological Ninth House
In comparison to the previous house, the ninth house is relatively easy to handle - emotionally speaking! As we move from the eighth house to the ninth house symbolism we have the opportunity to put our past experiences into perspective and to gain a better understanding of where they fit in to the big picture of our lives.
|
The Astrological Eighth House
As we move from the seventh house where a formal marriage or business partnership has begun and move into the eighth house, we begin to develop our one-on-one relationship skills a bit further. As part of this transition into a deeper relationship, most couples have to contend with learning to compromise in many different ways.
|
|
The Astrological Seventh House
Are you ready to have a good look into the Seventh House? This is a good question to ask because this house reflects back to us everything that we don't recognise in ourselves - the good, the bad and the ugly! By examining the symbolism found here we have the opportunity to view what we have not yet integrated into ourselves - our shadow qualities.
|
|
The Astrological Sixth House
The Sixth House is a bit like the 'have to do basket' that we keep putting off. Those chores, and daily bits and pieces that we have to do to keep our lives running (at home, work, or anywhere we spend a lot of our time), and all the ways we look after our bodies' ailments (ie, exercise, physiotherapy).
|
|
The Astrological Fifth House
Welcome to the Fifth House! This part of the chart is traditionally associated with fun, love, creativity, your own children and what type of activity you like to be involved in as a hobby. It also symbolises games of chance such as lotto, bingo, competitions, etc.
|
|
The Astrological Fourth House
The symbolism seen in the Fourth House describes whether the individual felt supported or not in developing their basic personality structure. Since this process occurs during the early, preliterate years of life many people do not consciously remember important milestones that affected them during this time - that's one of the reasons why the themes represented by this house are often unconscious.

Book Review: Mystic Medusa's Surreal Field Guide to Astrology
Sporting a hot pink cover with fun graphics on the front, it gave the impression of being a light-hearted and enjoyable look at astrology. The title also suggested a guide to astrology that was aimed at the general public. I was pretty much spot on with my assumptions.
|
|
The Astrological Third House
The symbolism of this House is often associated with the field of communication, the environment, siblings, relatives, neighbours, intellectual interests, early education, perception and speech, books, magazines, letters, publications and short journeys - phew!

|
The Second House
Have you ever wondered why the Second House is associated with self-esteem and values, as well as money? In this article we'll have a look together.

Haven't Got Your Time of Birth?
Although the process may seem a little time-consuming, I would recommend that you find out your time of birth if you are thinking about having personalised astrology prepared for you. There is so much more to be gained when all the correct details are presented!

The Significance of the Ascendant (Rising Sign) in Astrology
The Ascendant is basically the zodiac sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born - hence the other term for this point "Rising Sign". As this point is calculated for the moment you were born it is very important that you have the correct time of birth recorded for use when calculating the Ascendant and the rest of the birth chart.
|
|
The Significance of the Astrological Moon
Unless you have a serious interest in astrology you probably don't know what your Moon sign is. As mentioned in my introductory article, the Sun Sign is what most people are aware of because it is easy to calculate. However, because the Moon moves through each zodiac sign at a rate of about 2 1/2 days per sign it is more difficult to calculate it's position accurately. This is one of the reasons having a birth chart drawn up should be left to a professional.
|
|
The Astrological Sun
As mentioned in my introductory article, the Sun Sign is what most people are aware of because it is easy to calculate. This is one of the reasons it is used most frequently by the general population.
