This is the second half of an interview with web designer Nikol Lohr. Her first site, Disgruntled Housewife, is loved by many. Since leaving her full time job, Miss Lohr is now her own boss. She's been hard at work designing another great site, Smile and Act Nice (http://www.smileandactnice.com).

Smile & Act Nice is another web zine for hipster females. This one's got forums for chatterboxes, polls, articles, comix, advice, and articles on food, sex, home, life, and news. Their "Cute Du Jour" section features a neat-o product every month. I have to admit that I ran straight to Target and bought the days-of-the-week panties for women that they featured last month. Q: Are you a webmistress, a designer, or a writer?

Nikol: Yes.

Q: "Welcome to My Neurosis" - is this a peek at the real Nikol Lohr?

Nikol: I'm not sure what the "real me" entails; that's probably something I keep to myself. I think that mainly comes out when I'm talking to myself when I walk the dogs. But my Neurosis is as close to it as I am with any other humans.

Q: Now that you are no longer working for the man, what are you going to do?

Nikol: Try to work on the projects for DH that have been on hold since I started actually getting paid for creative work. The thing about the allegedly ideal job of doing what you like (but for someone else) for a living is that it completely saps you of all creativity. I haven't done anything completely new on DH in a long time. The stuff I started & never finished 2 years ago: Celebrity Breast Jumble, Rate the Superhunks and the Dog & Tattoo Scramble. I'm also going to implement a little technology into the site. It's pretty primitive.

I'm currently spending the lion's share of my time on Smile and Act Nice (http://www.smileandactnice.com). And taking in a very little freelance--I don't really want to fall into the trap of using up all my energy on someone else any more.

Q: You're funny. Did you do any writing before DH? How about now?

Nikol: Nope. Not really. A little for my other site, Smile & Act Nice. Nothing professionally.
