Camping 101 - Part TwoAnother useful piece of equipment you may want to consider is the camp stove. If you want to do any cooking at all, it is a good investment and can usually be used even during a fire ban when campfires are not allowed. Camp stoves can be as simple as a folding piece of metal around a can of fuel, or more complicated, with a side oven, two burners and a propane canister. If you are backpacking, opt for the lighter version. Also consider where you are going to be travelling and how easily fuel will be available. Before buying any piece of equipment, ask around and see what other people have tried. Did they like the sleeping bag they bought last year? Did their new tent leak? Check out www.outdoorreview.com for some reviews on camping equipment, they don’t have much yet, but it’s growing.
