Many Hats

is, it started to change. It went from that pale, limp-looking rag that it had been early Friday evening to a vibrant, smart-looking hat that was blazing with enthusiasm for God by Saturday night. The hat was the least of it, though. My heart was seeing the most change. It seems so simple now that I look at it, but I was responding to biblical truths that, though I'd heard them before and knew them to be true, I was hearing in a whole new way. The truth about living my life from the perspective of facing the judgment seat of Christ was real to me as it had never been before. It changed my life in a way I cannot adequately describe in mere words. This was an awesome weekend for us all. And yes, once we got home, I stayed charged up for a while, but then real life crept back in, and I've found it harder to hang on to that fiery feeling that I acquired that weekend. However, the truth is that it isn't the experience that is important to hang on to; it is the truth that came from it. The truth of who I am in God and what my responsibility is while I'm here on earth. That fiery feeling is going to come and go, but the source of the fire-he's here to stay. As long as he's ruling my heart, I will always know where to go when I need to reacquire the fire. ************************************************ Lisa Beamer is owner/editor of Christian Families Online For more information on Acquire the Fire and when it will be in your area, visit Acquire the Fire
