The holidays can be a time of stress, and often you get together with people you haven't seen in a long time. Here's a technique that can help you forgive old wounds and have better communication with your loved (and not so loved) ones!
Gold is a vibration or color that I often use in energy work and for personal spiritual healing. If you've had a reading from me, I may have showed you a meditation tool called a "golden sun." Gold energy is the dynamic vibration of forgiveness (also known as Christforce energy.) It is this quality of forgiveness that makes it such a powerful healing force. Much of the emotional pain we carry in our lives comes because we have never let go of old emotional wounds--either created by another person or self-inflicted. When you cannot forgive yourself or another person for a long time after the original offense, you stay in "victim mode." When you cannot release old hurts (large or small), it is destructive to your own well-being. By carrying a grudge, you disempower yourself. How? First, you are still connected to that other person, and a portion of your energy goes towards keeping the bad feelings alive. You have less power to create your life. Second, by keeping the thoughts and pictures that you have been "done to," you can continue to draw in more bad experiences that validate those negative thoughts. You get stuck in a rut, so to speak. And finally, there is a continuation of bad karma between you-which means you will probably meet that person again in another life so you can work things out! If you are still holding onto guilt from a wrong you inflicted on yourself or another, the same three results apply. If you let the negative feelings go and move forward, you will experience tremendous growth, change and a lot more fun. In Conversations with God, book one, God notes that suffering is caused not by events that happen to us, but rather by how we respond to them. Events happen in the world-sometimes you can control them, other times you cannot. But how you respond to the event determines how you feel about it, and it also has a strong impact on the outcome. If you continue to carry the pain around with you, you will always be affected by it--it will create continued suffering in your space. If you let it go, and replace it with the vibration of forgiveness, you can forge a new path in your life and in your relationships.
