Clairvoyance: Seeing from the Third Eye

We talked last time about clairsentience-having "gut feelings" about another person, place, or event. Clairsentience is one of the most commonly used intuitive abilities, but it doesn't always make sense because it comes from the second chakra-your emotional center. Clairsentience isn't as accurate or as clear as your clairvoyance, which often takes more time to cultivate.

Clairvoyance means clear seeing in French. This intuitive ability comes straight from the sixth chakra, or third eye, an energetic center located in the center of your head.

You might see an image, or a symbol, or a picture. Sometimes it is moving-like a mental movie. Other times, you might simply see a color. The images you see can be fuzzy or clear. Sometimes they're in color, and sometimes not. Often, you'll just get an impression of something, rather than a clear Technicolor image.

How it works:

Your sixth chakra is the energy center that "sees" what is going on behind the scenes, just as your eyes take in the physical world around you. Children are usually born with this center turned on and functioning-this is why they often blurt out candid observations that surprise the adults in their lives!

Historically, clairvoyance has never been a popular ability because it frightens many people. In fact, using it has been downright risky over the centuries-just as risky as spiritual healing or mediumship. Many clairvoyants were burned as witches during the Inquisition and at other times.

Even now, people get uncomfortable if you look at them clairvoyantly without asking. So it isn't surprising that as a culture, we tend to turn this ability way down and simply don't use it very often. For this reason, most experienced clairvoyants ask for permission before they "look," and they tend to have ways to turn the ability down in situations where it is not OK!

We live in a society full of sound bites, sitcoms, and media messages that are often very confusing to your clairvoyance. Clairvoyance works best when you . . .

· Have some quiet time for yourself each day to rest and reflect · Get good nutrition, ample sleep, and exercise · Have an independent perspective · Exercise your imagination

Rest and Reflection Because clairvoyance is about inner vision, you need time to focus, to go within, to take a break from your day and look at things objectively. These quiet spaces are when you will receive your insights.

Food, Sleep, and Exercise Clairvoyance is a spiritual ability, but it comes through the body. The clearer and more rested your body, the better your clairvoyance. I don't do readings when I am tired, upset, or overly hungry because my interpretation of what I see may not be accurate. Take care of your body well if you want to exercise your intuitive abilities.
