Baked Styrofoam for Mother's Day

Look in the oven a few times to see how much your creations have shrunk. Take out the ones which are just right and place back in the oven the ones you want to shrink some more. When we baked our goodies, we left one 4 inch heart on the cookie sheet by mistake, and it shrank to half an inch in diameter. I still have it. It was cut out of red styrofoam and has the centre painted in black. A pink wool ribbon is pulled through the hole. The hole has shrunk so much that the wool is firmly wedged in it.

How to Display

The women who received the Mother's Day goodies from the Sunday school children were quite inventive in displaying their presents. Here are some which I remember:
  • Like pendants around the wrist
  • Attached to the end of a pen or pencil
  • Attached to a zipper
  • Attached to a hair ornament All the mothers were proud to receive something homemade, something original which no one had ever seen before. Your mom, grandma, or teacher will be happy, too.
  • Greeting Card Poll

Homemade greeting cards are special, because they display the love and care of the person who created them. Do you make your own cards or do you buy yours?
