Yoga for Couples, Part TwoCouple's Lotus Pose The focus in this exercise is mainly on the spiritual, more than the physical. Sit in either half or full lotus pose as your partner does the same. Face each other with your knees touching. Join hands with your partner, allowing your linked hands to rest in the crease between your knees, forming a continuous physical bond. Close your eyes, and focus only on feeling the bond between you and your partner. Allow yourself to imagine your auras and spirits combining, and picture the energy flow between you flowing in a continuous eternity symbol. Do not think of anything...just allow yourself to become absorbed in your partner's energy. Let your "self" dissolve into them, as they allow theirs to dissolve into yours. This can be an intense experience - allow the pose to end naturally, so that even as your bodies separate, your souls remain entwined. Virtually any yoga asana can be modified to allow you to practice them as a couple; the preceding are only a few examples. Feel free to experiment with your partner, and build your repertoire of poses while you build a stronger bond as a couple.
