A Few Notes on Meditation and the SpiritYou do not need to be "religious" to nurture your soul and seek to reach a higher spiritual plane. Different religions all offer their own path to spiritual perfection, and no path is incorrect or necessarily better than the others. What is important is a sense of the self within the self and the self as connected to all the energy of the universe. It is important to believe in the reality of our soul, and the reality of a power greater than ourselves. While organized religion as we think of it here in the west is one pathway to realizing our spiritual potential, there are other philosophies. In coming articles I will discuss some alternate means of attaining spiritual nirvana, as practiced by some of the world's greatest yogis.
