Fragrant Shrubs - Page 2© Nathalie Gignac Henderson Fragrant shrubs are not just valued for their fragrance but also for their value to the landscape. Use them as hedges, for a foundation or to hide some areas in your yard. Choose a shrub that is dense and bushy, with bunches of stems off the main branches and lots of buds on them. You may want to bring the fragrance indoors by cutting flowers from your shrubs. Take note that due to the woody stems, the flowers won't last unless the cut stem is crushed or deeply cut and directly submerged in warm water. The ones that are gathered on a cold day will develop their fragrance once they have warmed up. Take a deep breath and enjoy your yard!
