Book Review - WANTED by Carolyn B. Cooney

Alice received a phone call from her father. He wanted her to take the car now and go to their favorite ice cream shack. Alice didn't know what to think. That was not like her father. Why would he ask her to take the car and drive without a license? Something had to be wrong, but what?

Even though Alice knew she wasn't supposed to drive, she changed her clothes so she would be dressed appropriately to meet her father. After Alice was ready to go, she heard someone coming in the front door. She was about to holler for her dad, but she stopped when she heard the intruder talking to someone or himself. She knew it wasn't her father.

Alice went to the garage and scooted underneath the Corvette to hide. Alice became frightened and wondered if the intruder was going to find her. If he did, what was going to happen to her?

Alice managed to leave and go to their meeting place. When she entered the ice cream shack, she ordered a Coke and a shake. Then she threw her cups away and went outside and climbed into her car. Her father still hadn't arrived. She began to worry about him. Where was he?

After Alice turned on the radio, she was shocked at what she heard. There was an announcement about the murder of her father. He was murdered in his apartment. The suspect was his daughter. Alice couldn't believe what she was hearing. It was impossible for him to have been murdered in the apartment. He hadn't been there.

She climbed out of the car and walked to a public phone. She called her mother, but her mother told her no matter what she did, she still loved her. She also told Alice that the police were there and had her confession.

Alice was shocked. How could her own mother believe she could murder her father? She kept thinking to herself about a confession. She hadn't confessed to anything. What was this confession? Who murdered him? Why was she being framed?

If you enjoy a great thriller, you will be intrigued with this story. I have read other books by Caroline B. Cooney and have liked everything I have read.
