RAW Report 4/16/01
RAW is LIVE from the U. of Tennessee (for you Jeff Jarrett fans, that's T-e-double-N-e-double-S-double E).
1) a) VINCE MCMAHON starts us off AGAIN and I have a bad feeling this is gonna revolve around him and LINDA- yep, he's upset that she wants a divorce. He says he'll do whatever he must to save the marriage. A sociological breakdown of the effects of mass divorces- yep, THAT's what won us the Monday Night Wars! Doesn't the U of Tennessee have a backstage area where this could've been dealt with?
b) DEBRA interrupts to remind Vince that he wasn't that kind to her marriage with STONE COLD. She says Vince is a "negative influence" on Austin, but Vince says don't blame me. He gets off a great line, something like "They say there's a great woman behind every great man, but I guess you're the exception to that rule." Debra doesn't like this and hauls off on Vince with a slap. We cut to commercial.
2) Backstage we see VINCE MCMAHON dominating the show- er, muttering to himself as he gets in his limo and drives off! Woo-hoo!
3) Backstage STONE COLD and DEBRA are having a marital spat. He's upset that she slapped Vince and so as punishment she gets a two hour time out. She sits in the chair unhappily and he wanders off to get drunk and annoy me.
4) EDGE/CHRISTIAN d. THE HOLLY COUSINS for the WWF Tag Team Titles. RHYNO accompanies the champs, and he gores HARDCORE HOLLY before the bell rings. Nice spot where Edge calls for the ref to start the match so he can get a near fall. Pretty traditional tag match leading to the predictable melee and more interference by Rhyno for the pin.
5) Backstage MICHAEL COLE interviews THE HARDY BOYS. JEFF HARDY says he's gonna get some payback on TRIPLE H and STONE COLD for beating LITA up last week.
6) Backstage SHANE MCMAHON pulls up in the WCW limo.
7) BUH BUH RAY DUDLEY v. JUSTIN CREDIBLE. I'm sorry but I just don't see why I should care about Justin here or anywhere else. Was he better than this in ECW? Cause so far I'm liking his PJ Walker days better than this. Slow pace in the ring with the seconds and thirds on the outside trying to liven it up a bit. Crowd chants "X-Pac Sucks" a lot, and so do I. Buh Buh gets the pin after a Whassup headbutt from D-VON. Is this "feud" over now please?
