RAW Report 4/2/01

1) a) STEPHANIE MCMAHON-HELMSLEY starts our night off. Maybe she can explain why STONE COLD turned on everybody last night at Wrestlemania- knowing her, though, she probably can't. She's carrying a leather strap because she's in a strap match against TRISH STRATUS later on tonight. Steph grabs the mic and... introduces her dad?

b) That's all? She got a full on intro and all she did was introduce VINCE? I could've baked cookies in the time it took her to get to the ring, but instead I had to sit and type out that she introduced VINCE!?! And now she's LEAVING! This isn't starting off well. Vince says he's very happy tonight because of the whole Stone Cold thing, but he's not happy that in his match last night he got slapped by Trish, kicked in the (and I quote) "gonads" by LINDA MCMAHON and tossed around by MICK FOLEY. Vince gloats over everybody and even makes fun of Texans just to do it!

c) THE ROCK interrupts Vince's now-weekly gloat party and demands a WWF title rematch tonight. Now to tell if Rock deserves one, let's go back to the archives and see if he gave KURT ANGLE a rematch when he won the title last month.... almost there... ok, yes, Angle did get a shot at the Rock on March 12th, which he lost by DQ. Back in the present time, Vince says that Austin isn't even here yet, and that the match probably won't happen anyway. To show his displeasure with this non-answer, Rock enters the ring and punches Vince. He slaps on the Sharpshooter and then asks if he'll get his title shot. Vince finally says yes and we've got a main event tonight. BUT- the title match will be in a cage! We cut to commercial.

2) TEST/THE ACOLYTES d. THE RADICALS. Kind of a blah match which doesn't really warrant the recap. Hey Vince, maybe the reason Test never gets over is cause he never gets mic time or decent angles to work? Maybe? Ah, forget it. Test pins PERRY SATURN after Saturn tried to protect TERRI.

3) Backstage COMMISSIONER WILLIAM REGAL is on the phone with his mum! STEPHANIE walks in and whips her strap a couple times on Regal's desk. Do they bring his desk to every show? That's awfully nice. We cut to commercial.
