RAW is LIVE from Uniondale, New York's Nassau Coliseum.
1) a) Surprise! It's MICK FOLEY, visiting as he's wont to do when the WWF comes by his hometown. He reminds us that he got fired as WWF commissioner (boo) by the evil MISTER VINCE MCMAHON (boo) and that the new commissioner, who he calls by his real name, "Steve" WILLIAM REGAL, is a bad commissioner. Thanks for filling us in, Mick. He plugs his book too. b) Backstage we see a limo pull up. STEPHANIE and VINCE MCMAHON step out and are essentially accosted by "Steve" aka WILLIAM REGAL, who tells the McMahons that Foley is in the ring. Vince wants to go to the ring. c) True to his word, here they come. Some idiot jumps the rail to talk to Vince and Vince makes fun of him on the mic. He compares Mick to an unwanted house guest- "you never know when he's gonna show up, and when he does, he stays too long." Vince calls out RIKISHI to drag Foley out of the ring. d) Rikishi. Yep, the culmination of our opening segment is Rikishi. Not that I don't like the guy- but that's what this is all leading to, cause UNDERTAKER's hurt, TRIPLE H is "under the weather" and we just can't expect STONE COLD to work for two whole hours. Foley tells Rikishi that he shouldn't be taking orders from the McMahons- after all, where were they when he was getting beat up by the Undertaker last week on Smackdown? Stephanie tells Rikishi to do it or he'll end up fired like Foley. Regal offers to "beat some sense" into the big guy, but as he rushes Rikishi hits the savate kick and the McMahon's roll out of the ring. Before Rikishi can leave, Foley gets him to dance to his old theme music. Funny stuff there. Vince returns with a microphone, and tells Rikishi that as punishment, he'll have to face Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight in a non-title match. We cut to commercial. 2) We see "During the break" footage of MICK FOLEY being escorted out of the arena by SOME SECURITY GUYS. VINCE is yelling at Foley the whole time. 3) Backstage EDGE and CHRISTIAN make fun of EDDIE GUERRERO's picture. KURT ANGLE shows up to apologize for flying off the handle at them last week. They're OK with that. He asks them to keep an eye out for the Olympic-gold-medal-stealing CHRIS BENOIT while he goes to the ring for his match. Kurt leaves and his "friends" make fun of his obsession with the gold medals.
