16) THE HARDY BOYS d. THE DUDLEY BOYS for the WWF tag titles. The Hardys have made up since the Lita debacle earlier, but I still don't like their chances tonight. MATT and BUH BUH start, with Buh Buh getting the advantage. Blind tag by JEFF but the brothers collide, and Buh Buh beats them both up. "Get up, pretty boy!" he says, and a back drop floors Jeff Hardy. Tag to D-VON and a big running elbow, Jeff tries to reverse an Irish whip but D-Von catches him in a neckbreaker off the top rope! A two count only though. Tag back to Buh Buh, who gets caught by Jeff's headscissors, but a Buh Buh Bomb gets two. Buh Buh goes to the second rope but Jeff punches him in the "how's your father" but it only gets a two count. Hot tags all around, Matt gets the advantage on D-Von (he hit a Discus punch!) with a DDT, Jeff comes in and we see Poetry in Motion for a two count. Swanton Bomb on D-Von misses, and it's time for the Whassup Headbutt. The Duds get the tables, or attempt to, but CHRISTIAN whacks D-Von with a chair. Back in the ring, Matt hits the Twist of Fate on D-Von and gets the pin! LITA drops by to celebrate, but all is not well in Hardyland, believe me.
17) Backstage WILLIAM REGAL and VINCE MCMAHON pat each other on the back (not literally). THE MIDGETS and AL SNOW storm their dressing room and demand Al be installed as Commissioner. Vince says Al might be Commissioner, if he fights THE GUT SHOW for the Hardcore Title tonight. We cut to commercial.
18) Backstage TRISH whimpers as STEPHANIE congratulates her for "knowing her place in the food chain. Barking like a dog suits you well." She makes Trish get her coffee!
19) Backstage CHRISTIAN calls EDGE using 1-800-CALL-ATT. I'm not kidding.
20) Backstage VINCE and REGAL are enjoying themselves. DEBRA drops by to resign as Lt. Commissioner. She also wants to return to managing. Vince is initially upset, but agrees with a fiendish grin on his face.
21) Backstage THE GUT SHOW walks around slowly. We cut to commercial.
22) Backstage DEBRA double-checks with HER HUSBAND that it's OK. Stone Cold gives the wrestlers' equivalent of "not now I've got a headache." And speaking of Head...
23) THE GUT SHOW d. AL SNOW for the Hardcore Title. Al puts up a good fight, but the Gut prevails easily with a lot of slow boring punishment. Show says "You wanna be a Commissioner? Take this!" What the hell does THAT mean? Note to Gut Show: don't telegraph your running moves by shrieking loudly as you run. Al steals a TV camera and hits the Gut Show with it, but it doesn't stop his heart, which means the Show is tougher than Jose Lothario. Heyman: "What the hell did that camera ever do to Al Snow?" Some chair shots knock the Gut Show off his feet, and sets six of them up in a row. Show military press slams Al onto the chairs and pins him. Pretty gruesome, though Al did pretty well until the end. Send the Show back to OVW, JR.
