RAW Report 2/19/01

We're one week away from No Way Out! (Warning: not actually one full week from No Way Out)

1) THE UNDERTAKER d. CHRISTIAN and D-VON DUDLEY in a triple threat match. The deal here is that one member of each team involved in the tag title match at No Way Out face off here, with their partners away from the ring during the match. That rule gets broken immediately by EDGE, who joins us for commentary. Edge notes that all three teams will be brother teams, but calls his team the "superior brother tandem." JIM ROSS goes on to note that many people are picking Taker and KANE, but Edge counters by saying that "for Christmas I got Christian a spaghetti strainer, I didn't burn him so badly that he had to weart a hideous mask for the rest of his life." Touche! Christian and D-Von have never really broken out of the tag ranks, while Taker is a three-time former WWF champion. So guess who dominates here? Taker pins Christian after a lot of carnage, even shoving Edge in the face. Nobody sells the Last Ride powerbomb like Christian, folks. Edge gets a chokeslam WAAAAY up in the air after the match.

2) Backstage STEPHANIE and TRIPLE H are waiting in the parking lot for tonight's opponents, TRISH STRATUS and WILLIAM REGAL. H can't figure out what this match will accomplish, but Stephanie reminds him that Trish is a skank so it's OK. We cut to commercial.

3) Backstage EDGE and CHRISTIAN are upset that they both got beaten up by THE UNDERTAKER, and re-strategize as a result.

4) LITA d. DEAN MALENKO. Dean shoves Lita down to start off, and then pounds on her. He rolls out and grabs a chair but the ref takes in, and Lita rolls him up for a near fall. Dean goes back on the attack, hanging Lita up in the ropes and kicking her. Dean goes for the pin but puts Lita's leg on the ropes. Then Dean wails on her some more before taunting her, but accidentally whacks the ref with Lita's legs while setting up for a fallaway slam. Dean leaves the ring and grabs another chair, but MATT HARDY runs in through the crowd and whacks Dean with the chair. He rolls Lita on top and she gets the pin. Matt and Lita hug and... kiss? after the match? Lita acts surprised. Apparently Matt didn't tell Lita how he felt before. She looks upset, but kisses him back after all. JERRY LAWLER: "She swallowed him whole!" Now why does that sentence make we want to throw up as I read it back?
