RAW report 9/18/00
WWF RAW report 9/18/00 LIVE from Allstate Arena in Chicago- and when we say live, we mean live cause we were sitting up there in the second tier. Crappy seats, and we sat behind the slowest-thinking wrestling fans ever born. It's the last ever RAW on USA network- why oh why?
1) a) STEPHANIE MCMAHON HELMSLEY is our opening act tonight, and she asks that COMMISSIONER MICK FOLEY cancel the match between KURT ANGLE and TRIPLE H because she can't stand to see her husband and her "friend" fighting over her. The crowd can't stand her and boos her unmercifully. Man, you have to have some serious self-esteem to be a top heel in the WWF these days.
b) Here comes KURT ANGLE, who insults Chicagoans in exactly one sentence! He calls Chicago a "roughneck city" and makes fun of the Bears. No wonder I love this guy so much. He says that he doesn't like Triple H and he never will. But if Stephanie says he's the problem, he'll walk away right now, cause that's what a friend would do. He then rolls some footage of how nasty Triple H is, including all the times he accidentally hit Stephanie. She's not exactly happy, but...
c) TRIPLE H is even less happy, and he explains to Kurt just about as much. I'm not exactly sure, though, because the Allstate Arena is a dump and the sound is beyond pathetic there. He then gives a promo that's one part hilarious but one part playing on the homophobic tendencies of mouthbreathing Chicago wrestling fans. (He he, I love ripping on those folks!) He suggests Kurt is a little that way, or else why would he just want to be "friends" with Stephanie? He then rolls footage of Kurt crying after winning the gold medal at the 96 Olympics.
d) MICK FOLEY is here, and he says that the most important thing to do at this point is not to cancel the match but to get Kurt Angle a Kleenex! He then appoints himself the special referee for the Angle-H match at Unforgiven and books a tag match for tonight- Angle/H vs. T&A.
2) Backstage, THE RIGHT TO CENSOR get jumped by THE ACOLYTES. Ouch! We'll be right back...
3) RTC d. DUDLEY BOYS after some interference from outside. Not too much going on here and except for the Dudley's usual spots the crowd was dead. Bull pins Buh Buh, I think. After the match the Dudleys get beat down until THE ACOLYTES save them.
