RAW is WAR report 7-24-00RAW is WAR live from Austin, Texas, 7-24-00 1) a) Mick Foley comes out to do some cheerleading for the previous night's pay-per-view, recapping the results from Fully Loaded. He announces a rematch between Kurt Angle and the Undertaker as a match for tonight, and recaps the controversial ending of the Rock-Benoit match. b) This of course brings Benoit and Shane McMahon out, and Benoit is livid, calling Foley "a damn fraud." Man, the crowd is loud tonight. Shane says that no matter who the commissioner is, the referee's decision is and should be final. Benoit demands a title rematch, but Foley only says he'll take that "under advisement." Benoit gets ready to beat up the commish... c) ...and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley comes to the ring, without Triple H. She brags about Triple H's prowess in the ring and elsewhere (yuk), but then takes Shane and Benoit's side. Foley says that he tends to agree with Chris Jericho's assessment of her, which brings on a slap. Foley, feeling the urge to get some payback, books Shane and Stephanie as a tag team against two mystery opponents. If Benoit or Triple H get involved, all four get fired. 2) Steve Blackman d. Road Dogg to retain the Hardcore Title. As my wife put it, "Road Dogg is ugly and D-X is disgusting." Couldn't have put it better myself. X-Pac jumps in on commentary, proving that there's something even more boring than one of his matches. Blackman nails Road Dogg with a couple of trash can lids- nice bulldog onto a lid. Blackman brings out the trash can, and places it in the corner, but Dogg drop toeholds him face first into the can. Dogg grabs some fighting sticks, but so does Blackman, who whips Road Dogg about a dozen times. He waffles Dogg with a chair and gets the pin. X-Pac wants Blackman on Smackdown to prove he's a better wrestler than Road Dogg. 3) Stephanie whines to Triple H about her tag team match. Not all is well in the Helmsley household, apparently. 4) Shane and Stephanie make their way to the ring. Lita is their first opponent, and Shane says he'll protect his sister. Lita's partner? The Big Show! He chases Shane to the back, leaving Stephanie alone with Lita. We get a "Lita" cheer as she beats the tar out of Stephanie. She sets up for a moonsault, but Trish Stratus shows up in time to knock her off the top rope and whip her with a workout belt. By the way, Trish swings the belt better than Hollywood Hogan ever did.
