Market Report No. 4: The Big Guns

© Alissa Grosso

This month's Market Report takes a look at professional science fiction magazines, the big guns. Many of these magazines have been around for quite awhile and have established very good reputations. They publish the most popular and successful science fiction writers, but they are also always on the look out for fresh new talent.

When submitting to any of these publications you should only send your best, most polished work. You will be up against some serious competition, and only the best stories will make the grade. It may not be easy to get published in one of these magazines, but those who do will be rewarded with a fatter than average check and a large audience. As with any publication, make sure you familiarize yourself not only with the writer's guidelines, but with the sort of stories published by each of these magazines.
