In our continuing look at science fiction markets, we have a whole new batch of magazines and ezines for you to peruse.
These markets are considered semi-prozines. That is they pay a minimum of between 1 and 3 cents per word. (Due to varying payscales you may find that some publications on this list count as professional magazines by SFWA standards.) They're a step below the big leagues. These magazines are eager to publish new writers. So write, edit, and submit!

Aboriginal Science Fiction is a quarterly print magazine looking for stories between 2500 and 4500 words. "Stories with the best chance of acceptance will make unique use of the latest scientific theories and discoveries, have lively, convincing characters, an ingenious plot, a powerful and well-integrated theme and use an imaginative setting." Payment is $200 per story.

Absolute Magnitude is a full-sized, quarterly, print science fiction magazine. They are looking for character-driven action/adventure based technical science fiction stories from 1000-25,000 words. Stories between 3000-8000 words are preferred. Absolute Magnitude pays between 2 and 6 cents per word.

Challenging Desity is a Canadian print science fiction and fantasy magazine. Payment is 1 cent (Canadian) per word. They prefer stories from 2000-10,000 words, but will consider shorter or longer works.
