Baring that in mind, ECW will be revived as late-night wrestling, using the ECW logo, music and many of the more well-known former ECW stars. However, the problem will be that "extreme" in Titan Sports' eyes is WWF Hardcore matches, the occasion Hell in a Cell, and T and A (not the federation). If Heyman isn't given 100 percent control, or is censored by too many McMahons, the result will be two hours (if that) of hardcore/no-disqualification/street fight matches. It will be watered-down ECW. Hell, it won't even really be ECW, it will be a sick McMahonian perversion.
Hark, the be-eth a light at the end of yonder tunnel.
Heyman is likely making more now as a TV personality for WWE than he did as owner of ECW (hell, right now he's making money, period). If that's the case, and the McMahon-ECW does become a sad perversion of the original, then there is a way out.
Also reported on 411Wrestling is the XPW, the federation once referred to as "Hogan's federation" (although that turned out to be a marketing ploy), has been invading Puerto Rican-based WWC in a more heated nWo fashion. This is a fed that had tremendous potential, but no where to go. Should take the money he has been making from WWE and run, he could invest, take control and reshape Xtreme Pro Wrestling into a REAL new ECW. He could leave the name ECW and all it's problems behind, and start over.
Now we all know how optimistic I can be (he, he) and sometimes how far-fetched I can be (perish the thought), but think about the opportunities here. Think about what a Heyman-controlled competitor could do to the WWE in its current state. With NWA:TNA slowly creeping up onto national radar (if could only get the hell out of NC and go on tour) through syndicated programming deals in addition to weekly pay-per-views, a second, more innovative federation making headlines could revive something like the Monday Night Wars.
