What Went On While I Was At Work

Now that he's clean, he admitted to taking a lot of the items, but some items he doesn't know about. We assume it was his friends whom he brought into the house. Here are some of the items stolen from my house: video game systems, camera, video games, movies, food, calculators, jewelry, CDs, liquor, telephone, Discman, and money out of our wallets (while we were sleeping).

It is too bad that I was not at home during the day to supervise but that is the risk we have to take. In order to help my son and to begin a healing process for our family, I am in the process of arranging for some additional time off work.

I'm relating this story in order to alert other working mothers to follow your hunches if you suspect your child is using drugs. Keep tabs on your household items, be aware of numerous phone calls and visitors, and don't hesitate to inspect your kid's room for drug paraphernalia. Don't believe the lies they tell to cover up, be tough, and get help!

I believe I waited too long and was blind to the situation. I hope that we never go through this again and if we do, I'll be all the wiser to the warning signs!
