The Tide ClothesLine* - A Site Review

© Maureen Fleury

No matter if you are single, married, male or female; you all wear clothing (nudists excepted). The makers of Tide* products have an excellent site on clothing care, The Tide ClothesLine*. We all expect it to be a plug for their product line and it's there, but there's more.

You will see articles on corporate sponsorships. At the present time, they are sponsoring the Tide Racing Team* and have teamed up with the US Soccer Association to host a tournament. It's always good for a corporation to show its community spirit. The Neighbor-to-Neighbor* newsletter is a monthly email publication where families share timesaving tips and hints. Each month a family is featured. Just for signing up for the newsletter, you are eligible for a monthly draw to win a year's supply of Tide*.

Right now there are 2 contests happening. One is the HE Sweepstakes* for owners of front-loading washing machines. The other contest is for a Spin & Win* draw. You can win Tide* products or a washing machine if you are the grand prize winner of the sweepstakes. If you want help immediately, you can go to the Tips & Timesavers* section.

In addition to the past and present products, there is a section on what's new. That's where you'll find out what has just come out on the market (such as bleach alternatives). In this section, there are hyperlinks to the regular features you find on the home page.

You will also find links to online stores where you can buy Tide products and to the Oshkosh Online Store*. With our world getting more hectic, more people are turning to the internet for shopping.

Now, my favorite section is The Tide Stain Detective*. This is an interactive section where you first select a category (e.g. food stains, outdoor stains). You will be asked 3 questions about the fabric and the stain. Then you will receive an answer on how to treat it. For people who own Palm Computing devices, you can now download The Tide Stain Detective*.

I asked how to remove water-based paint and they did offer treatment instructions along with the following statement: "Unfortunately your chances for successful removal of THIS stain are not very good. Working on the stain when it's fresh increases the possibility of success." I admire their honesty!

The Tide ClothesLine* is easy to navigate and you won't find banner ads there. Just their own product promotion. The graphics are catchy. At the top of the home page, you will see T-shirts waving in the breeze. Each shirt is a link to a section.
