This is an update to the article Mother's Day Wish List I wrote last year.

To celebrate Mother's Day, I would like to share my wish list for working mothers. Although I composed this list based on my personal situation, I'm sure other working mothers can relate to what I'm saying. Here are my hopes and dreams for the year 2000.

  • My place of employment learns to be more diligent with their spending so all employees can get the resources they need.
  • My 10 year old autistic child learns more life skills so he can do more things for himself.
  • Be more careful on my spending so I can make the monthly payments on the car I bought.
  • Be more patient with my children and less critical of them..
  • Hope my teenagers learn to say "no" to drugs and alcohol.
  • Learn to be more flexible to change in my workplace and in my life.
  • Be kinder to my husband and understand that we all have our bad days (including me).
  • Learn when not to interfere when the boys are going through one of their "sibling rivalry" moments.
  • Be consistent when handing out consequences for inappropriate behavior.
  • Let my children make mistakes. Some lessons can only be learned through their own experience
  • Understand that my children are growing up and their needs change.
  • Learn to delegate more responsibility to the children.
  • Be nicer to myself.
  • Don't let the little things get under my skin.
  • Remember my mother on Mother's Day and don't forget to thank her for all the things she's done for me.
May all your wishes come true.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

Don't forget Mother's Day on May 14th!
