A Personal Time Management Strategy to Help Your Family, Yourself & Your Home Based Business

Many of you, the wonderful visitors, members and fellow editors that read this column every week, ask me the same question: How on earth do you manage to get everything done? (Or, as one woman emailed me, "I have decided that you are one BUSY momma!")

To be honest, it is days like today that I wonder how I fit it all in myself. It has been spent, as per usual, doing a thousand little things that add up to the majority of my day. My routine is pretty much set, and my daughter is at the center of it all. Today's synopsis is as follows:

My little sweetie wakes me up, like she does most mornings, with her feet in my face, giggling at the absurdity of the situation. Even though I am still pretty sleepy (I probably got only five hours of sleep last night, what with my awful insomnia), I can't help but to smile. Her eyes light up noticing that I am awake, and her pudgy little hands twist in front of my eyes, "waving" good morning.

Danielle then plays on the (baby proofed) bathroom floor while I have a quick shower. Then we share a great moment, where she "plays" with the baby in the mirror. We move on to the living room, where I nurse my daughter while checking my email. Of late, I am receiving 40-70 e-mails a day, most of which need to be answered, and not just read and discarded. So, I sift through it all, taking care of any urgent business, and printing out catalog requests, contest entries and orders to fulfill them. If I have time, I'll check my statistics on both this page and my business page, just to see how much traffic has passed through, as well as to quickly analyze which marketing efforts are proving fruitful, and which I should stop spending time on.

When I log out, it is time for breakfast for me. My daughter will munch on a piece of my toast, and I will eat on the run, either finishing up some dishes from last night, or getting my papers together for the day's journeys. Danielle will play on the kitchen floor. If she wants to be held, I either wear her in her sling if it's going to be a day around the house, or carry her in a backpack if we are going out.
