Admist all of the chaos, both my hubby and I have rediscovered our sense of family humor. What normally would have been a tense week instead became a contest to see who could make light of a situation in the most bizarre way. For instance, as I am writing this, my daughter started to emanate a rather foul smell. So, I changed her. Upon removing her diaper, she magically squirted urine all over me (usually it will just fall into the diaper when this happens, but today she aimed well). As I looked at her, surprised, and not too sure how to react, my husband exclaimed, "Urine luck!" (As in, "You're in luck.") Even though I have heard him say this more times than I can remember, it made me laugh.
But even though I have a lot to be thankful for, and even more to laugh about, my smile is wearing thin. I feel stretched out, and very, very tired. I know that it is time for me to take a break from everything, because if I do not, I will not be able to be a good mother, wife, small business owner, and woman. So, this week, I present to you, a list of sites to help you to relax, recharge, and take some time for yourself. Because even the best of parents need a break once in a while. LUSH
LUSH came into my life when I was still pregnant, and walking around trying to induce labor. My brother in law bought a Butterball for me (vanilla and cocoa butter bath bomb), and I have been hooked ever since. This European-based company sells handmade bath oils, bombs, soap, and much, much more. If you have allergies, or have children who have allergies, than this is a great place to shop - all of their items have a list of exactly what's in them, and even have vegan designations for the appropriate products. Let's put it this way - this is one of the only companies whose products have never given my husband a rash, and it leaves our bathroom smelling absolutely dreamy for a week or more. A little pricey, perhaps, but worth every penny for the oh-so-occasional splurge, in my book! And don't the miss the After 8, a chocolate mint massage bar, which smells and looks like the real thing. Oh, what luxury! Add this to the ideas presented in Intimacy in the Bath, and you've got a great night ahead of you.
